If You Give a Cat a Cupcake (If You Give... Books)

If you give a cat a cupcake, he'll ask for some sprinkles to go with it. When you give him the sprinkles, he might spill some on the floor. Cleaning up will make him hot, so you'll give him a bathing suit . . . and that's just the beginning!
The lovable cat who first appeared in If You Give a Pig a Party now has his very own book! Written in the tradition of the bestselling If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond's newest story will show everyone that Cat is where it's at!

Postponing death...

Postponing death...

Is... is that Heather posting a picture? After... TWO WHOLE WEEKS OF NO FLICKRing!!! :O I thought I would die from not seeing any of you! (okay, I did sneak on a few times so it wasn't a complete two weeks :P) And sorry about getting the dates wrong... I said I was going to be gone one week, and it turns out it was two weeks, hehe... Sorry... But I do have one question to ask of you all...
Why did you all choose to go on major uplaoding sprees while I was gone?? T____T I bet you were all conspiring against me... O.o I can just picture all of you looking at my last picture and going: "Wait a second? Heather's gone? Oh good, now I can upload all of these gorgeous pictures without having to worry about stupid Heather going and spamming them! Mwuhahaha! yay! >:D" T___T nooo...
But you were all wrong!!!!!! >:D Hahaha, now that I am back I will spam all of your pictures twice as much, because they are just too beautiful to keep away from... All 6 contact pages of pictures to comment on... This might take a while...
So I'm very sorry if I didn't comment on any of your pictures during the last two weeks! I promise I'm going to catch up tommorrow when I have unlimited free time, haha.

Okay, now that I have that out of my systems it is time for... Um... I don't know... I guess a TWT update :P Well, I worked on polishing chapter 1 while I was gone. So now all I have to do is take the pictures, and chapter 1 will be out :D yay! *audience is silent* Well... whatever, that won't take too long, I guess... Although chapter one is so very long... T____T

Okay... We're aproaching the end of the INCREDIBLY long description. Now I have to point out a few things about this picture and rant about Laverne. I guess like this picture a bit... I used to like it, but then I put the noose in and, well... It kind of fell apart T___T the rope doesn't look good... at all... And it has choppy edges because I was in such a hurry to post something on flickr, haha XD
But other than that, there are some special (or not so special) things about this picture to point out :P There are (slightly) hidden messages near the text :P Not surprising, since everyone can SEE them, that's because I'm lazy and don't know how to make things transparent. If anyone does, I would be much obliged if you told me how XD
As promised in a note in the last picture, there are three swirlies in this picture to make up for the ones I missed. So knock yourself out, haha.
Well... All in all, I guess this is my fav edited picture of mine so far... So it isn't a total trainwreck, and that's as good as is to be expected of stupid Heather :P

See you later!!! :D Thankies much for looking!!! I love you!!! <333
Seriously, I say this way too much, but I am SO THANKFUL if you even glance at this picture!!! :3 I'm sorry that I'm too lazy to thank you all individually in comments ><

What makes me happy?

What makes me happy?

Photo scanned for Our Daily Challenge: Makes You Happy. Forgive me for posting a nearly 60-year-old photo. My sister lives 1,000 miles away, so I couldn't photograph her. Please read the following story:

I have been sick for several days and haven't had much to be happy about. I had to cancel a trip to see my granddaughter in an Irish Dance competition. Yesterday my sister called to ask how my granddaughter had done. I had to tell her that I hadn't gone because I was sick. She said, "Why didn't you call and tell me so I could worry about you?" I said, "Because I didn't want you to worry about me!" She said, "That's what big sisters are for! You don't have a mother to worry about you anymore." Our dear mother died six years ago at age 97.

Candy Construction: How to Build Race Cars, Castles, and Other Cool Stuff out of Store-Bought Candy

Kids passionately love everything about candy - the sweet satisfying taste, of course, but also the smells, the colors, the shapes, and the textures. So why settle for just eating it? In Candy Construction author Sharon Bowers reveals how inexpensive and readily available store-bought candy offers an irresistable treasure trove of crafting material.
Armed with a bedazzling variety of sugary shapes, from rolls and sticks to ropes and strips to rings and cubes, there is no limit to what kids can build -- with Candy Construction as inspiration. Imagine a chess set with Hershey's Kisses playing pieces! Candy snakes made from Necco Wafers and bubble-gum tape, with M&M's for eyes! There are spaceships, race cars, planes, woodland creatures, jewelry, and more -- all crafted from candy.

Perfect for birthday parties and rainy day activities, the more complex Candy Construction projects offer plans for complete tabletop scenes, including a construction site with dump truck and construction workers; a steam train with an engine, tanker cars, caboose, and boxcars; and a magical castle with stacked cookie towers. There are also fun projects for holiday decorations for Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and more. Every project is accompanied by full-color photos and easy-to-follow, step-by-step building instructions.
With small children of her own, Sharon Bowers knows the challenges of preventing excessive candy consumption. To her pleasant surprise, she found that offering kids an alternative use for candy actually cut back on the eating — without eliminating any of the fun!
Parents will welcome this creative new way of looking at candy and using it up, while watching their young construction workers put their imaginations and hands to work!
